The Infamous Tanfield Goose shoot will be held on Friday 1st September 2017.

Last year 185 Geese and 35 Ducks were accounted for.

A Week’s Salmon Fishing For 5 Rods

A weeks salmon fishing on the Coul Beat of River Conon, Ross-shire. Exclusive use for whole week-maximum 5 rods.

No accommodation included but can recommend. Beat Ghillie provided.

The Coul Fishings comprise double bank fishing on the River Conon starting approximately 500m below Torr Achilty Dam and

Power Station extending for a distance of about 1.8 miles (2.9 km) downstream to the junction with the River Blackwater. The

Conon River itself runs for about 15 miles (23.5 km) from the outflow from Loch Luichart to the junction of the Conon estuary

and the Cromarty Firth near Dingwall. Average annual rod catches for the Conon system are typically 1200 - 1500 salmon &

grilse per year of which about two thirds are caught in the main river below the junction with the Blackwater.




Cessna Flight

A flight in a Cessna 172 for up to 3 passengers piloted by the owner Chris Ussher.

The plane is based in Suffolk, but pick up point to be mutually agreed and if nowhere suitable near the winner’s home, then it

will need to be the nearest airport. First hour from agreed pick-up point free and for any time thereafter there will be a charge

of £200 per hour or part thereof. It can fly up to 120 miles an hour and its endurance is up to 3.5 hours, depending on wind.

Le Touquet is 2 hours, Cherbourg 2.5 hrs and Oban 2hrs from Yorkshire.

AAGPAI Instructor.

Glynn is one of the finest Spey casters in the UK and there is a real chance of a fish straight off the tide on this beautiful beat.

 Ure Salmon Oil Painting

A stunning painting of a Ure Salmon by local Wensleydale Artist Rik Duffield.

Richard Duffield was born and raised in Wensleydale and began his career as an illustrator for a local company. Later working

as a freelance artist he began to specialise in wildlife painting and was commissioned by the RSPB as well as many private

collectors. In 1989 he was offered a contract as Head of Scenic Art with a Leeds based company and for several years

produced work for the BBC, ITV, The Royal Armouries, The Tower of London, The Royal Shakespeare Museum and many

more nationwide. In 2001 he returned to freelance work and now divides his time between painting large format paintings for

companies as far afield as Dubai in Saudi Arabia but still finds time to for painting wildlife in his beloved Wensleydale.

LOT 16

Simulated Game Day

A simulated driven game day for 8-12 guns on the Bolton Estate.

Starting with a full English breakfast at The Bolton Arms in Redmire, followed by four drives (and elevenses) in the morning,

lunch at Bolton Castle and a final drive after lunch. Guns require SGC and insurance, plus approximately 350 fibre wad

cartridges each. Supervision/coaching can be arranged for novices at extra cost. Date to be arranged my mutual agreement.

catching a tide-liced fish on this glorious private beat.

A great day for beginners or experienced anglers.

The day starts with casting and fishing instruction by Brian Towers, who is an AAPGAI instructor  

Buffet lunch.

Guided fishing in the afternoon for either salmon or trout.

 Equipment provided if necessary,  apart from waders.






Lot 20

One days pheasant shooting for two guns in a line of eight at Sawley nr Harrogate

(Kindly donated by Sir Ian and Liam Botham)


Sawley Hall shoot is run by Liam Botham, with his father Sir Ian,
and the family are all involved. The shoot sprawls across 2,500 acres of
pasture and heavily wooded ground cut through with valleys ideal for
pheasant and partridge. Expected bag 150 birds.

An exclusive day’s chalkstream trout fishing for 4 rods on the famous River Nadder on the Hurdcott Estate in Wiltshire.

the River Ure followed by dinner and accommodation at The Wensleydale Heifer, The Blue Lion and Swinton Castle on three
