River Conditions & Weather

Welcome to the River Conditions and Weather section. Here you will find all the information you need to assess current and impending conditions.

METOFFICE & BBC WEATHER

Both these sites show radar maps of rainfall (should there be any!). Use them to find out what has fallen or is about to fall in the catchment.

Snaizholme Beck is above Hawes and Bainbridge is above Aysgarth Falls. If they are falling in the morning at 05:30, then the upper river will normally be fishable (colour and level) by the afternoon. Lower beats may not be fishable until the day after. Keep a close eye on these upper gauges to avoid arriving at an unfishable river.
